Death	Her name is spelled Reuhama, age 82 in the record. She was a widow, so Walter had already died.

Married Walter Cook Noted in The Hartford Times Genealogy Gleanings, (FHL fiche 6,333,834, part 3, #4350 dated Sept. 13, 1952.) NAME: Her name means "having obtained mercy" in Hebrew (Hosea 2:1) She was first cousin to the wife of the great Revolutionary War hero Oliver Wolcott. HER NAME Ruhamah is a Bible name, meaning mercy. (See Hosea 2:1) In Hosea 1:6 it is given "Lo-ruhamah: for I will no more have mercy..." Ruhamah is not in the Bible Dictionary, but obviously was a name used in ancient times. WALTER'S PROBATE: "At a court held 26 July, 1780 came Ruhamah Cook, widow of Richmond," allowed to be guardian of Isaac, John and Asenah, minor children of Walter Cook, late of Richmond. (Probates of Berkshire County, MA, Vol. 2, p. 184b, FHL film 873,481.) 1790 CENSUS: "Ruhama Cook" at Richmond, Berkshire, Mass. In the household are four males over 16 (Her four youngest sons hadn't married yet, the youngest of whom was 17) and 2 females (Ruhama and youngest daughter Asenah (Susanna had died.)
