Captured by the British in 1780 at Ballston Spa, Saratoga, New York, and taken to Canada. "James Gordon, at the time a colonel in the American militia, was a target of this raid. A force consisting of British soldiers and Native Americans, under the command of British Major John Munro, attacked Gordon's house, located just north of the Mourningkill on Middle Line Road...The raiders rounded up other residents from the area, including Capt. Tyrannus Collins, Gordon's near neighbor. All were marched under heavy guard toward Canada...All the captives were taken to Montreal. There, the whites were imprisoned and the blacks were sold to new owners." BERKSHIRE, MASS Tyrannus moved to Berkshire, Massachusetts. He and his children are recorded in the vital records there. However, North Branford Vital Records show he and Abigail were there for the birth of their son Manassah In January of 1766. Branford Vital records do not record births or baptisms for any other children except that one. <i>(Baptisms copied from Branford church records : kept by Rev.
