Note	BIRTH: We know she is the daughter of Matthew and Mary Birchard because of Berkshire Deed 50:163: "The said Mary Birchard is widow of Matthew Birchard, late of Becket, deceased, and the said Rhoda, Levi, Andrew, Caraline and Polly, children of said Matthew, and the said Zebedee (Goodwin) and Russell (Chipman) husbands of the said Caraline and Polly and the said Daniel (Curtis) as husband and heir to Jemima, daughter of said Matthew, deceased." (FHL 872,102) Dated 24 Mar 1812. This family found on The Messenger Family in Portage and Geauga Counties, Ohio, Comp. JJ Beniger. FHL 929.273 M562r p. 14-31. She is listed as the oldest child. On page 30 it states the family moved to Shoreham Vermont about 1800. Also found on Pedigree Resource #133 Pin #2214400 (No sources, no dates, no places.) Only Levi is given a birth date of 2 Oct. 1760 at Becket, Berkshire, MA. BERKSHIRE COUNTY, MA Land Record for Berkshire County, Mass, dated 21 Nov. 1795: (Berkshire Deeds 42:221, FHL 872097) "Pitman Cook and Rhoda Cook of Richmond and others sold Levi Burchard of Sharon, New York land in Becket, Berkshire, Mass. It is in the Second Division, lot 8. Mary Burchard makes herself partner in contract to acquit Levi Dower. Others named as grantors (later named as Rhoda's siblings:) Nathan and Marchy Burchard of Becket, Berkshire Mass. Andrew Burchard of Sharon, Vermont Zebida (Zebidee) and Caroline Goodwin of Sharon, Vermont David and Jemima Curtis of Granville, New York. In the same deed her parents are named: "The said Mary Birchard is widow of Matthew Birchard, late of Becket, deceased, and the said Rhoda, Levi, Andrew, Caraline and Polly, children of said Matthew, and the said Zebedee and Russell husbands of the said Caraline and Polly and the said Daniel as husband and heir to Jemima, daughter of said Matthew, deceased." DEATH: Probably took place in Shoreham, Addison, Vermont, after 1812. She signed a deed 24 March 1812 with her siblings, so it was obvious she was still alive even though Pitman's Revolutionary War Pension Application, written in 1850, stated when Pitman C. Cook died he left no widow. The above stated deed (Berkshire Deeds 50:169) said she lived at Shoreham, Addison, VT with her siblings in 1812, and possibly her son Pitman had lost track of her. "Know all men by these presents that we, Mary Birchard widow, Rhoda Cook, wid., Levi Birchard, Gent, Andrew Birchard Jun, (or Gent.), Zebedee Goodwin and Caraline Goodman his wife and Russell Chipman and Polly Chipman his wife, all of Shoreham, State of Vermont..."
