Note	Barbour Collection of Woodbury Vital Records, F.H.L. book 974.6 V2wL Vol. 50, p. 213. "Nathaniel Porter of Woodbury married Abigail Joselyn of Branford." Several sources erroneously record this as a second marriage, the first being to Deborah Hurd. However, Deborah Hand, not Hurd, was the wife of his father Nathaniel, and was assigned by "The History of Woodbury, Conn" (William Cothren, 1854. F.H.L. book 974.6 H2cw, p. 669) to Nathaniel Jr. because the death date of his mother, Joanna Porter, was not known. It is now known this marriage of Nathaniel Jr. to Abigail Joslin was the first and only marriage.
