GREAT BARRINGTON: It is known Joanna was alive on 28 August 1777 when she served as witness with her sister Esther to a deed when their brother Simeon bought land in Great Barrington from their father Nathaniel. (Berkshire Co., deeds 22:12, FHL 872086.) She was probably the Janna listed as signer on 9 December 1791, Nathaniel Porter of Great Barrington, yeoman, sold land in Gt. Barrington, part of Lot #32 "in the East Division of long lots in the Upper Housatonic property." Witnesses are Simeon Porter, Lucy Porter, Janna Porter and Henry W. Dwight.
