His grandson Phineas knew his name was Josiah (Phineas Wolcott Cook, The Life and History of Phineas Wolcott Cook, (PWCFO:Brigham City, online at cookfamily.org) p. 7. “Mother had two brothers, Josiah and Leeman.”) The name was Josiah in his grandmother's probate which follows. HIS GRANDMOTHER'S PROBATE: Sarah Dunk Burgess (Found by Bryson C. Cook at the Litchfield County Courthouse Nov. 2010). Dated January, 1796: "Heirs named, each to receive £8.13.1: James Burgess, Ebenezer Burgess, Mary Troop, Hannah Lovejoy, Irene Lemmon. Sarah was not named because she had already died, but her children were named as Grand heirs, each to receive £1.4.10: Sarah, Josiah, Leman, Lucy, Polly, Irene and Phebe "Churchel." In that will he give his wife’s name as Betsy. This may have been Olive’s preferred name perhaps short for Olive Elizabeth or she may have been a second wife.
