Also cited in Barbour Collection of Litchfield Vital Records, Vol. 23, p. 56: "Phebe, d. Jonathan & Sarah Churchill, b. Feb. 28, 1791." Citing Litchfield, Conn. Vital Records, GS#2973 item 4, pp. 49-50; Vol 1, p. 133 HER GRANDMOTHER'S PROBATE: Sarah Dunk Burgess (Found by Bryson C. Cook at the Litchfield County Courthouse Nov. 2010). Dated January, 1796: "Heirs named, each to receive £8.13.1: James Burgess, Ebenezer Burgess, Mary Troop, Hannah Lovejoy, Irene Lemmon. Sarah was not named because she had already died, but her children were named as Grand heirs, each to receive £1.4.10: Sarah, Josiah, Leman, Lucy, Polly, Irene and Phebe "Churchel." (Litchfield Probate Records on Family History Library film 1022330.) DEATH: Third row, Taylor Cemetery, Bangor, Van Buren, Michigan. She is buried next to her husband Daniel Taylor. "Phebe Churchill, his wife, died March 12, 1883, ae 74y 5m."
Note	The marriage is found in Newtown Vital Records, [FHL Film 4961], 2:49. Phebe married Daniel NOT David Taylor. In the census records from 1850 to 1860 she is listed as Phebe Taylor living with Daniel Taylor. Her tombstone reads, Phebe Churchill wife of Daniel Taylor. The Michigan Death records for her sons Frederick and Noble list their parents as Daniel Taylor and Phebe Churchill. The reference to David Taylor as the husband of Phebe given in, The Churchill Family in America (United States: Published by the family of Gardner A. Churchill, 1904), 367, is wrong. The author has David Taylor married to sisters Polly, Phebe and Mary Emily Churchill. Phebe clearly married Daniel Taylor. Polly and Mary are interchangeable names and were confused by the author. Polly never married David Taylor but her half-sister Mary did marry David Tousey Taylor of Newton.
