BIRTH: Loraine Cook White Comp., Lucius A. Barbour and Lucius B. Barbour, The Barbour Collection of Connecticut Vital Records (Hartford, Connecticut: Connecticut State Library, 1911-1934), citing Branford vital records, 3:113. "Ezra, s. James & Sarah, b. Apr. 3, 1747." (Farmily History Library book 974.6 V2wL v. 3)

Phineas Wolcott Cook reported there was an uncle from Canada who came to Michigan to bring a yoke of oxen to him. We know it wasn't his Churchill uncles. Perhaps it was one of the two living Burgess uncles. (Unpublished manuscript, p. 4-5 by Bessie Cook Kelsey, a daughter of Hyrum Howland Cook, reprinted in "Voices of Women," Vol I, Rhea Kunz, 1978, p. 62.)

DEATH: Before 1775 when his widow remarried. Myron A. Munson, The Munson record: a genealogical and biographical account of Captain Thomas Munson (a pioneer of Hartford and New Haven (New Haven, Conn.: Printed for the Munson Association, 1895.), 1001. "Benjamin Munson; m. 6 June 1775 wid[ow] Rosanna Burges of Litchfield" The family lived in Waterbury Connecticut until 1797 when they moved to Paris, Oneida, New York. See also, Lucius A. Barbour and Lucius B. Barbour, The Barbour Collection of Connecticut Vital Records (Hartford, Connecticut: Connecticut State Library, 1911-1934), citing Waterbury vital records, 2:117. "MUNSON Benjamin, m. Rosanna Burgess, June 6, 1775." (Family History Library book 974.6 V2wL v. 50)

Anderson's History gives her name Roxana. U. S. CENSUS 1790: Washington, Litchfield, Connecticut, no Ezra Burgess. He would have died before his widow’s second marriage. She named her first son by her second marriage, Ezra.
