BIRTH: B H Allred, son Wm. M. Allred and Orissa A. Bates, b. 29 May 1847 at Kanesville, Potawattamie, Iowa. Bap. 29 May 1855 by Wm. Allred. Received in ward 11 May 1879 (Garden City Ward Record of Members 1889-1894, Manuscript, Original record book Church History Library, LR 3095 7, p. 122-125.) Byron Allred Supt.., It was held in dwelling houses and in the summer went to the lake. After Byron Allred moved away Bro. John Allen was Supt. May 12, 1889. Teacher’s Meeting held August 17, 1879: Brother Allred and Spencer Vichten, north district. Bro. Allred stated they found the saints willing to do right although some was rather slothful but expressed a willingness to do better. Teacher’s Meeting held Oct. 24, 1879: Bro. J. W. Cook was appointed to act as Teacher in our ward. Bro. H. Allred was appointed Sunday School Supt. With C. T. Longhurst first asst. and A. C. Rich second. Teacher’s Meeting held Dec. 14, 1879, Bishop R. Calder presided. Bro. Allred and Rich visited South District. They found the saints feeling well, although some are very indifferent to their prayers. Some feelings existed in the north district. Teacher’s Meeting held Jan. 25, 1880. Bro B. H. Allred stated he had felt well under the sound of the brethren above mentioned. (Bishop Calder and Bro. Williams from Paris, Id.) He said the quorum had ought to be united above all men. He prayed God to bless and help them to do good. (There are usually 2 to 4 teachers assigned to teach the people the next two weeks. B. H. Allred is always assigned.) Teacher’s Meeting held March 21, 1880. Bro Allred said a few words in way of encouragement. The brethren as deacons to their duty. Said it was a honorable office. Said if they be onward in the kingdom God should bless them. Roll 2, p. 24, Teacher’s meeting Feb. 8, 1882: Jo. W. Cook and B. H. Allred visited the North Dist. They visited nearly all of the saints those they visited was feeling well in their religion. They found no difficulties. p. 28, May 21, 1882, J.W. Cook opening prayer. Bro. B. H. Allred said he believed there was a great deal of party feeling among us as a ward. He said he had felt the Spirit of Opposition. Bishop Calder advised the quorum to exercise all the influence they could in their visits among the saints. p. 32, Oct. 28, 1882, Bishops court. Longhurst left the meeting house. Alonzo cook said he should have been glad to have done away with the Bishop’s court-providing C. T. Longhurst should have restitution. B. H. Allred asked permission to say a few words in behalf of Joe and George Longhurst who was present. He told them it was the duty of the bishop and teacher never to sustain such proceedings. Jos. W. Cook said it was his mind and will exactly. p. 37, Dec 31, 1882, Bro. Allred said we ought to put a stop to the many evils that existed in our midst and he for one did not feel like taking the sins of others on his shoulders. He felt like doing his duty, let come what will. p. 83 dated May 18, 1883, “The minutes of teachers meetings were left in a note book in pencil. Was recorded from Aug. 31 1882 until Mar 26, 1889 during the time B. H. Allred was clerk. I am now recording the minutes between said dates.” Signed William Cook, Ward Clerk
