Note | BIRTH: "Edward Frisbie of Branford and his Descendants," Vol 1, by Nora G. Frisbie, FHL book 929.273 F917fn, Vol. 1, p. 69. It was here stated that although previous genealogies had put his birth date at 1750, it was more likely 1762. POULTNEY, VERMONT He was in Poultney as early as 1783. ("The Frisbee-Frisbie Genealogy: Edward Frisbye of Branford, CT, by Edward S. Frisbee, p. 62, (FHL book 929.273 F917) 1790 CENSUS WILL The will of James Frisbie of Poultney was written in 1797. This will is referred to on p. 143 of Nora G. Frisbie's book (see above.) Land went to the widow, to son Samuel, daughters Rebecca and Sylvia Frisbie Smith and Betsey Hubbard. James Frisbie household in Poultney, Vermont has two male children under 16 and one female child. HISTORY The History of Poultey has James with children Sylvia, Hannah, Samuel and James. Note: Because there were three men named James Frisbie in Poultney and Rutland, Vermont, there has been confusion about which is which. Rebecca's will in 1812 doesn't mention the son of James and Clamis because he is not her son. James of James and Clamis was buried next to his mother in Poultney. |
