Note | BIRTH and DEATH: The will of John Hall recorded Nov. 14, 1690 mentions Henry Cook, (his son-in-law) as possessing 11 acres in Wallingford which "was also the property of the said John Hall which is already in his possession..." obviously Henry's inheritance from his wife Mary's father. (John Hall of Wallingford, CT, by James Shepherd, FHL film 962,776, item 4, p. 33.) On p. 37 it notes John's daughter Mary Hall was born about 1654. On p. 44 it notes John's wife was Jane Woolen. The fact that land records of their children mention Henry Cook and grandfather John Hall proves Mary Hall was Henry's first and only wife. (See Wallingford Land Records 6:95; 4:520; 7:141; 4:454.) This is quoted in the book "John Hall of Wallingford, CT, A Monograph," by James Shepherd, FHL film 962,776, item 4, pp. 44-47 Also found in "Ancestors of Robert Harry McIntire and Helen Annette McIntire," by Robert Harry McIntire, Gateway Press, Baltimore, 1980" p. 7, the daughter of John and Jane Hall. DEATH: Wallingford Land Records (2:805, FHL 6018) Mary wife to Henry Cook died Feb? 4, 1718 Also found in the Boston Transcript, 9 September 1925 #3195: New Haven Genealogy Magazine quoted |
Note | The Essex Institute, 2:43: "Henry Cooke marryed to Mary Hale ye last of the 7th mo. 1678." (Hall was spelled Halle originally, so was intended to be Hall) Also documented in the will of John Hall recorded Nov. 14, 1690 mentions Henry Cook, (his son-in-law) as possessing 11 acres in Wallingford which "was also the property of the said John Hall which is already in his possession..." obviously Henry's inheritance from his wife's father. (John Hall of Wallingford, CT, by James Shepherd, FHL film 962,776, item 4, p. 33.) On. p. 44 it notes Mary married Henry Cook Sept 30, 1678, |
