Note	BIRTH: Barbour Collection of Waterbury Vital Records, F.H.L. book 974.6 V2wL Vol. 50, p. 277. Named as son of Richard Porter in "Genealogical and Family History of the State of Connecticut," Ed, W.R. Cutter, E.H. Clement, S. Hart, et. al., Vol, 1, p. 584. (FHL book 974.6 D2c, Vol. 1.) There it was stated "He was living in 1728 in Woodbury, and in Waterbury in 1739 when his father died. He removed to Northampton in 1739, being called of Farmington in the town records. He was given a settlement jointly by Hatfield, Hadley, Deerfield and Northampton to practice in these towns. He was called a "bone-setter," there being a physician in Deerfield and perhaps others in the section. He was in Northampton March 27, 1739, receiving 200 pounds from the towns mentioned." (pp. 584-585.) CHILDREN: There are vital records in Woodbury for only Sarah and Gideon. The other children are named in land records and in Hezekiah's probate. WOODBURY: "Hezekiah Porter born July 27, 1704, 4th son of Richard of Waterbury. "He was living in Woodbury in 1728 and in Waterbury when his father died" (p. 175). PROBATE: Hezekiah Porter was in Woodbury as early as 3 August 1725 when his daughter Mehitabel was born (Woodbury Congregational Church records, 1670-1920, FHL film 6182, Item 1, p. 56.) His family was there. His probate record names his family: Wife Sarah, sons David, Gideon, Elijah and Hezekiah. Grandson “Elijah Hinman, son of my daughter Mary.” Daughters Mehitable, Sarah, Mary, Lucy. (Woodbury Probates Vol. 6, p. 234, FHL film 6173, item 2); Continued in FHL film 1029508, #3636a, April 11 1777 and Vol. 7, p. 234, FHL film 6174, item 1 where his will was displayed and he was called Lieut. Hezekiah.
