Note | Named as son of Dr. Hezekiah Porter in "Genealogical and Family History of the State of Connecticut," Ed, W.R. Cutter, E.H. Clement, S. Hart, et. al., Vol, 1, p. 584. (FHL book 974.6 D2c, Vol. 1.) He was born after the family had moved to Mass. REVOLUTIONARY WAR A soldier from Northampton (see above ref. p. 585. Removed to Rutland 1790 CENSUS Rutland Vermont. He had two sons under sixteen and two females in the family. RUTLAND, VERMONT He was the first president of the First Vermont Medical Society. Dr. James Porter was reared in his family.
