BIRTH: "Goshen Vital Records," Family History Library film 2970. The Wadhams family genealogy is given for several generations, all of whom were born in Goshen from earliest times. Jane's name is listed Mabel Jane, born January 31, 1819. However, at her death she was given the age of 71 years, 10 months and 22 days which would have put her birth at Febuary 9, 1818. I have taken the earlier date because I believe she would have known her own birth date. Her family wouldn't have made that mistake. Somehow the original Goshen genealogical record was wrong. There is no other primary record in Goshen or in Connecticut for her birth.

1880 CENSUS: Jane M. Cook, keeping house, 58 years old, she and both parents born in Connecticut. (1st Ward, Niles, Berrien, Michigan, Family History Library film 1254,572, National Archives film T9-0572, p. 257B.)

DEATH: State of Michigan death record, in possession of Shirl E. Cook; copy in possession of Janet Porter. This record states she died at age 71, 10 months and 22 days (9 Feb. 1818) in Niles, Berrien, Michigan. She was born in "Conn" and died of Pheumonia at Niles 31 December 1889. Record 190, it was was recorded June 10, 1890.
