Note	BIRTH: "Peter Welton born February 23, 1743/4, son of Peter and Abigail Welton." (Town records (Waterbury, Connecticut) v. 1, 1680-1820, Family History Library film 1412886, item 3, p. 529.) Extracted records for Waterbury, Ct., Noted to be the son of Peter Welton and Abigail. WATERBURY Peter Welton Jr. and his family is listed in the History of Waterbury, p. 551 Appendix, Family History Library film 599,254, as taken from the town's vital records. His wife and children are listed. A petition 25 April 1775 at Waterbury to form a voluntary company to protect themselves and their town "in time of danger" signed by James Eggleston and Peter Welton Jr. (Rev War Records, Series 1, Part 1, 1764-1767, p. 107, Vol 1, Family History Library 3534) We know he was alive November 11, 1776 when her brother Job's Probate was published: Miscellaneous Probate Records for Woodbury and Waterbury, Conn. Vol 7, p. 157, (Family History Library film 6174) November 11, 1776, Peter Welton appointed administrator for his son Job who died intestate. It was noted "Job was of Waterbury." Distribution was to his siblings: Ruth wife to Mr. Samuel ?, Peter Welton Jr., Abigail wife to Andrew Bostwich, Elizabeth wife to David Daton and Mary Welton.
