Note | BIRTH: "The Family of William Frisbey," pp. 114, 117 of the book "Unclassified Frisbie Families," Vol. II, by Nora G. Frisbie, FHL book 929.273 F917fa V.2. It is not known if his name is George or George P. becase he appears in the records both ways. Present-day descendants are certain his name was George P., but since his son was George Pack, they could have been confused. (p. 117) 1830 CENSUS: Bloom Twp, Morgan, Ohio. One male 20-30. Three females, one under 5, one 5-10 and one 20-30. WASHINGTON COUNTY, OHIO In 1836 he moved to Roxbury Twp., Washington Co., and is in the 1840 Census there. He was on a polling list of 1847 and lived in Zanesville where he was Justice of the Peace for nine years. He operated a ferry over the Muskigum River. Either that or an occupation of operating boats on the Ohio River earned him the description of Ship Captain in later generations. (p. 117) DEWITT COUNTY, ILLINOIS He moved to DeWitt County, Illinois in 1848, and is said to have died nine days after settling there. He had been on a business trip to New Orleans and was returning on the boat when he fell, hit his head, and died from the injury. His wife remarried William Montgomery and the family later joined the Mormons and went to Independence, Missouri.
