Her parents also born in Conn. She is the mother of three children, two of whom are living. He is a farmer. They both read, write and speak English. He owns his home and farm with no mortgage. Listed as Number 176 on Farm Schedule. They have been married 45 years. Presiding Officer: Reuben Spencer, J. W. at “present” (1880) Reubin Spencer is listed as taxpayer in Richland Township in 1863, living on the same piece of land formerly owned by his wife's grandfather Phineas Cook. It is 65 acres with a value of $1,100.
