SAMUEL NORTON went to Goshen before 1741, Nov. 11. Live on East Street. He died 1801, Sept. 19 in Goshen. (http://searches2.rootsweb.com/th/read/NORTON/1998-03/0889964845) Land Records Samuel Norton of Goshen for love and the good will I have for my son Abijah Norton of Goshen, give land in the east side of Goshen on the North part of the hill called Pond Hill. 14 Sep. 1773, (Goshen Deeds, 5:372, FHL 4,419) The date is questionable because Abijah sold that same piece of land one month earlier. WILL: Connecticut Wills #4213, Connecticut film 1022,351 is Samuel Norton is of Goshen. His wife Mary to have the use of all my real estate during her life. Children of his son Jabez are named: Margaret, Ashbil, Noah and Sarah. Daughter Lydia is wife of John Allen. Sarah is wife of Roys Gaylord. Mary is wife of Abel Brustol. Dated 28 Jan. 1788, witnessed by Ebenezer Norton ahd Charity Norton. His son Samuel is executor. DEATH: Hibbard, p. 513. says he died 19 Sept. 1801, although his will is dated 1788.
