Note	"Chauncey P. Porter and his son Alanson moved to Meadville, Pa, about 1830 and resettled in Warren, Ohio in 1844. He was a flax seed oil merchant and owned a flax mill." This family, although not copied, is found in "Some Descendants of Robert Porter," by M.P. Miller, p. 10, (F.H.L. book 929.273 P835m.) 1850 CENSUS: Warren, Trumbull, Ohio. Alanson C. Porter, age 26, born about 1824 in Vermont. His wife is Julia R. Porter, age 26, born Ohio. Child is Hanna A. Porter, age 1, born Ohio and Cornelius McNutt age 23, born Ohio, is a boarder.
