Chas Webb's regiment, enlisting July 27, 1775 and discharged Dec. 24, 1775. A private in Capt. Daniel Benedict's company, Ninth Regiment of militia, discharged Sept. 25, 1776. He was a private in Capt. Jared Shepherd's company, Col. Thomas Belden's regiment, time of marching March 29, 1777; discharged May 19, 1777. Private in Capt. John Ensign's company, Col. Increase Mosley's regiment. OHIO: Joel and Lois moved near Cleveland with the Hudson colony in 1800. Others who went were David Hudson, Samuel & William Norton, Milo Lee, Timothy & Abigail Laura, Allen Gaylord, Moses Thompson, Miss Ruth Gaylord-29 souls. ("History of Goshen, FHL book 974.61/G1 H2h, p. 193-197) "Jonathan Gaylord came here in 1809 with a party of 40 of his relations. His son-in-law, William Stow and his wife Peggy were in the group. Both families have always been well known here. William Stow was a distant cousin of Joshua, who founded Stow Township. He came from the same town: Middletown, CT."
