BIRTH: Record of the Bartholomew Family: Historical, Genealogical, Biographical, by George Wells Bartholomew, p. 110. DEATH: "He died childless in Vershire where he had passed all his days. He was the most extensive farmer in his locality. His wonderful energy and thoroughness are illustrated by the miles of stone walls he built which apparently will stand until some earthquake dislodges the stones. He owned and operated several mills, but gave much of his time to public affairs, being frequently elected selectman, representative, etc. He was noted for his honesty and integrity. Was a whig and a republican and a member of the Baptist Church. His death, like his brother Oliver, was the result of a fall." Record of the Bartholomew Family: Historical, Genealogical, Biographical, by George Wells Bartholomew, p. 110.
