GOSHEN: "Lois, daughter of Elijah of Farmington, taught school in Goshen, Connecticut 1786-7. Her husband, Butrick, deserted to the British in the Revolutionary War." History of Goshen, F.H.L. 974.61/G1 H2h, p. 267. In a letter from Barbara L. Breor, Goshen Town Clerk, April 20, 2006, in possession of Janet S. Porter a copy of Goshen file cards (no reference) indicates Lois Porter of Goshen b. 1752, is the daughter of Elizah or Elijah Porter of Farmington. Her husbands and death date are noted.
