REVOLUTIONARY WAR: He received a captain's commission from President Jefferson, and distinguished himself in the War of 1812. Saved the life of Gen. William H. Harrison at the Battle of Tippecanoe. Died at Deer Park, Long Island. ( The Children of Elizabeth and William Tuttle #917.) DEATH: "Families of Ancient New Haven," Vol 1, by D L. Jacobus, 1923, p. 449. No reference, but he resided at Babylon Long Island at the time. He is listed as the son of Isaac and Martha (Cook) Cook. In the book (The descendants of William and Elizabeth Tuttle, who came from old to New England in 1635, and settled in New Haven in 1639, #917.), it states he died at Deer Park, Long Island. |
